Why SmartAger® Forte:
SmartAger® Forte was developed to provide long-term, prophylactic support for the health of your four-legged friends. This is achieved, similar to the Gelenkfein® Forte formulation, by stimulating cartilage cells for mobility and agility. In addition, the health aspects of bones and connective tissue are also addressed by activating the respective cell lines.
How does it work?
SmartAger® Forte contains the same joint-supporting components as GelenkFein® Forte and works through the same mechanisms in this area. On the one hand, this involves a short-term effect for pain relief and inflammation reduction, which, as in other food supplements, is generated by components such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and green-lipped mussel extract.
In addition, GelenkFein® Forte, like SmartAger® Forte, achieves long-term effects by stimulating the metabolism of joint cells. This increases the production of aggrecan and collagen type II, and supports the regeneration of articular cartilage.

Limitations:
The patented mechanism of action of Gelenkfein® Forte and SmartAger® Forte in the joint area is subject to two important limitations.
Firstly, cartilage regeneration occurs significantly slower compared to inflammation reduction. Accordingly, a slow increase in joint load should ideally occur within the first eight weeks. The effects on the cell metabolism of bones and connective tissue are also long-term in nature and not immediately noticeable in the first few weeks.
Secondly, the effect is based on the stimulation of existing cartilage cells. This means that the more cells that can still be activated, the greater the cartilage regeneration. Consequently, the earlier Gelenkfein® Forte is taken, the more cartilage can be preserved.
For the effects of cell metabolism stimulation, regular, ideally daily, intake is required.
Who is SmartAger® Forte suitable for?
The formulation is specially developed for long-term prophylaxis and is therefore particularly suitable for animals of middle or advanced age who do not yet have acute limitations, such as joint problems.
A prophylactic treatment with SmartAger® Forte can also be useful after taking Gelenkfein® Forte to maintain the achieved effects and prevent a long-term loss of mobility and agility.
Smartager® Forte is suitable for both dogs and cats but requires a weight-adapted dosage.
