Why Gelenkfein® Forte:
GelenkFein® Forte is designed to improve the mobility and flexibility of your four-legged friends with joint problems by optimizing the metabolism of joint cells and supporting the health of articular cartilage.
How does it work?
Broadly speaking, GelenkFein® Forte works through two main mechanisms. Firstly, there is a short-term effect for pain relief and inflammation reduction, which, as in other dietary supplements, is produced by components such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and green-lipped mussel extract.
Furthermore, GelenkFein® Forte achieves long-term effects by stimulating the metabolism of joint cells. This increases the production of aggrecan and collagen type II, and supports the regeneration of articular cartilage.

Limitations:
The patented mechanism of action of Gelenkfein® Forte is subject to two important limitations.
Firstly, cartilage regeneration occurs significantly slower than inflammation reduction. Accordingly, a gradual increase in joint load should take place within the first eight weeks if possible.
Secondly, the effect is based on the stimulation of existing cartilage cells. This means that the more cells that can still be activated, the greater the cartilage regeneration. Consequently, the earlier Gelenkfein® Forte is started, the more cartilage can be preserved.
The stimulation of cell metabolism also requires regular, ideally daily, intake.
Who is Gelenkfein® Forte suitable for?
The formulation is particularly designed for animals that already suffer from joint problems or could do so in the foreseeable future due to heavy physical exertion. Prophylactic treatment with Gelenkfein® Forte to maintain mobility and flexibility can be useful. Our Smartager® Forte formulation also contains the patented components to support joints, but in a reduced dosage. The focus here is on long-term, broad prophylaxis, which also includes the areas of bones and connective tissue. It is not uncommon for customers to start with Gelenkfein® Forte and switch to Smartager® Forte after achieving success in the joint area.
